A charity can be an institution, organization, a single person or a group of people. Charity is an act of a kindness, which demonstrates love for a fellow human being. Charitable organizations require funds, as they need to provide food, shelter and other amenities to the poor. Their main source of funds is through donations from individuals, corporate houses and other organizations. Often a part of the income received from concerts or parties is offered to charities. Corporate houses and philanthropists also hold fundraising events. These are social gatherings that people give money to attend. The money received is given to charities. Another form of donation is a car charity. In this, people donate their car to a charity. The money got from the sale of the car goes to the charity. The donor receives a tax deduction when he donates his car to a charity. Sometimes people donate money to charities in their wills, as well.
