England have finally named their 23 man squad with the major surprise being the inclusion of 17yr old Theo Wallcott. They by far of the superior squad strength bar maybe Brazil. But then again who ever talks about any position in the Brazil squad other than it's strikers? England on the other hand have World Class players in ever outfield postion. John Terry (Defence), Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard (Midfield) and Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen (Strikers) are all what would be considered by many to be World Class So the question remains can England win the World Cup? From a personal stand point I have to go with no. Why I hear you ask? Why can England not win the World Cup if they have World Class players in every postion? Well the answer is simple... Sven Goran Erikson. What is wrong with their manager you ask? Well number one and quite possible the biggest factor of them all he isn't English. Number two the man simply does not know how to motivate his team. If England had a manager like Jose Mourinho then I believe that they would indeed stand a chance of winning the World Cup and possible the 2008 European Championships |
