Senator Joe Lieberman and the Israeli-Hezbollah Conflict

Author: Lance Winslow

It is interesting that Senator Joe Lieberman is standing up to criticism of his own Democratic Party and supporting Israel's right to defend itself and protect her people. It is amazing that other senators of the Democratic Party and the liberal side of the fence will not stand up in unison and support Israel as she fights against international terrorism. Hezbollah is known to be an international terrorist organization, which is sponsored in part by Iran to the tune of $100 million per year.

If the United States faced a similar threat from let's say Mexico and do they were shooting rockets over the border into San Diego and their military went over the border and kidnapped two American soldiers then I that every congressman and senator no matter which party would stand up and take notice. If Mexico refused to do anything about such an event because it was a row element of their military along with drug cartels, then you bet the United States of America would take care of the problem for them.

It is very interesting that Senator Joe Lieberman will stand up for what is right over his party and their liberal view of things. Perhaps Senator Joe Lieberman realizes that you cannot negotiate with international terrorist organizations who have already overtaken the government in the country they are in now. You cannot negotiate a cease-fire with international terrorist groups who are lobbing rockets into civilian areas. You can not negotiate with international terrorist groups who are funded by nation state sponsors who promised to blow your nation off the map.

We need more backbone in the Democratic Party and it is amazing that as we approach the next set of presidential elections that the Democrats will not stand up for what is right and make a stand. It seems rather unfortunate that those in the Democratic Party will put politics ahead of right and wrong. International terrorism should not exist in the present periods or in any future. Where our offspring and grandchildren will live. We have a chance to defeat international terrorism right now and we should support Israel for remaining on the frontline and doing just that. Please consider this in 2006. Vote for Joe.
