A Stitch in Time Saves Nine Im sure youve probably heard someone say, A stitch in time saves nine, but did you ever really think about it? In the context of fixing something that is ripped it means getting out the needle and thread and fixing the tear before it becomes too large to be fixed. It doesnt mean letting it sit in the sewing basket until the person has grown out of it. It means FOCUS and do it now! I live in the country and have 2 acres of land to look after. As a rule I spend most of my time at work or in the house and so I dont pay a lot of attention to all of my yard. I spend the 3 - 4 hours it takes to cut my grass, but some of the trimming gets put off and thats why I now have a full-grown tree growing out of the base of my barn instead of a young sapling that I could easily trim. Its also why the raspberry bushes have taken over in a few places. This saying also relates to organization. If I would put things away as I deal with them and not leave them on my kitchen table or the coffee table or the counter top or the bedroom floor, then cleaning up wouldnt be such a daunting task and I wouldnt continue to put it off for weeks on end. (I find there is ALWAYS something Id rather do than clean my house!) It really doesnt take a lot of time once you get started, but its much harder to actually get started when all you see is mess. (What I see is books and more books and more books that have no place to live.) Now thats great, I hear you saying. Ive learned that you neglect your house and your yard, but what the heck does that have to do with me? Well, I was just about to get to that. About 2 years ago I heard about Mike L and I listened to some of his amazing radio broadcasts. He got in touch with me and talked to me about a program he had that would teach me how to achieve my goals if I was ready. But I thought I could do it myself. He got in touch with me again some time later and told me about Glenn D. He hooked me up in early 2005 and I talked to Glenn about writing my own ebook. He gave me some good ideas and we talked about me working with him if I was ready. Glenn was just starting out and was looking for people to mentor, but I thought I can do it on my own. I got a copy of Mikes CD Unleash the Greatness in YOU and I was excited. I could do it.but I didnt. Recently I listened to a lecture by John DiLemme and a question that stood out for me was, Are you successful at the level you want to be at? He said: ENOUGH enough self-doubt, enough procrastination Today is the day. Then this past week I got a CD - The Person You Must Become. One thing said really struck me. It is important to have a mentor. Someone who is ahead of you, someone who will keep you accountable! BANG! Right between the eyes. Exactly what was missing! Now this wasn't the first time I had heard that, but I had allowed procrastination to creep in and there was no one to keep me accountable. No one to ask, So, how many chapters of your ebook have you written today? What ideas do you have for your ebook and what have you done about them? I realized that if I had taken the stitch in time 2 years ago, I would have saved time (and money) because I wouldnt have been spending all my money looking at this option and that option and trying to figure out what I would write about. I would have had that coach, that mentor to force me to FOCUS, to accomplish my task. As Glenn says, You dont need more information. In fact, information is your enemy. What you need is the right action stepsexecuted properlyto save you time, energy and money. I am encouraged tonight as I read Sara Ban Brethnachs words: Perhaps this August you might like to commence a personal harmonic convergence through rediscovering, recovery, and celebrating your creativity, the sacred conduit to access your authentic self. Its never too late to reclaim your individual gifts, resuscitate a dream, create an authentic life. So, the time has come to procrastinate no longer. Tonight I have faxed my reply to Glenn for my 30 minute Dream Into Action audit. I want him to teach me how to overcome the obstacles that have been holding me back for too long and to show me how to build a business doing what I want to do. Sara also said, When we follow our authentic path with love, embracing our creative impulses, we live in truth I think it's time for me to follow my authentic path, how about you'?
